SP Weed Sprayer 1995
Author: gonx

SP 7616 is running the Asplundh weed sprayer on the East Valley Line at Ewing (Lincoln CA).

When I realized what was slowly rolling down the line, I retreated deeper into the former Purdy site, long time dismantler-scrap yard of SP and WP rolling stock.

March 1995

Thanks for looking

Great catch. I used to catch this work train once in a while. We used to joke about using agent orange to spray on the weeds. Plus we never saw the same crew the next year.

My thoughts indeed!  And if they are, what conditions have they endured from working with this spray, if not hit with the COVID.

Interesting that the "shorty" tanker disappeared from the consist by then.

Thanks for sharing the same train a year later.

Very cool look back.   They even sprayed the TTX centerbeam at the end.
Also fun seeing the old SP bulkhead flats sitting there waiting their fate.
Thanks for sharing.
