Railroad Humor - mostly aimed towards mgt
Author: roustabout

We had a guy - heck, we had several - who was an artist of sorts.  The office dry erase board was his media.  I don't think it matters if I mentioned his name but I will not for one reason or another.  Skewering Portland & Western management was his favorite thing on the office white board.  He also had a tag he applied to some railcars but that's a subject for another time.

First one was his comment on the state of our Albany yard.  It was usually busy although by now I think we had day and night jobs, hampered by rules changes and traffic in and out of the yard.

Second one, well, it's railraod humor.

Third references our old SD7 (and my favorite locomotive) SD7 1501 and either management stop test or rules changes that slowed the work down.

I will post more as when I look them up.

Any of you old SP guys remember this? Conductor Kenny Bolls was one of the culprits. I won't say who the other one was.

Wonder if that is an executive privy or one for the great unwashed.

Yeah, Kenny Bolls got the UP sticker in Yuma. We were following a slow westbound. Came into Ferrum on a yellow, put a full service in the train, we ran across the yard, did our dirty work...got back to the train, kicked the brakes off, left on a flashing yellow. We were fast.
