I believe this photo was taken at Sand Creek Jct Denver CO.
UP controlled the interlocker and BN crews contacted UP 
for a lineup towards the Brush line,   12 years later I was 
dispatching the 2 BN lines out of Denver from Ft Worth TX.
Front Range and Brush lines,   One was dark territory TWC 
Denver to Casper and the other CTC Denver to McCook and 
TWC Brush to Sterling,

TWC - track warrant control which replaced train orders.
CTC - Computerize Traffic Control.  Signals and switches control
by a train dispatcher from a central location,  By 1995 BN dispatchers 
had rellocated to Ft Worth TX.   I never dispatched using old green board
with levers and buttons.  By my time on the railroad we viewed on a CRT (TV monitor), 
The line between Brush and Sterling operated on UP own tracks when I dispatched 
the line in 1995 - 1996.
