The channel on YT is Sidetracked (again) and the title to search is "High Iron with Lorne Canady."  The gentleman worked for UP in Eastern Oregon and Idaho but finished his career on the branch to Hine and Burns after it was spun off by the UP.  Very interesting look at a real small operation in the middle of nowhere.  Bonus:  Our own Ted Curphey is involved with the interview although the audio of his side of it is not the best quality.  Still, it is very much worth an listen.

That was a very good video talk!  Interesting to hear about working for a Class 1 (UP) and how that compares to working for a shorttline (WYCO's Oregon Eastern).  Lots of history and discussion of past traffic besides Hines Lumber and O&NW, of stock cars, propane, reefers (apples and onions), fertilizer, salt.  Also the diatomaceous earth at Vale that keeps the last 25+ miles of OE active (take the cars, not the winch!).  There's tales of trackwork and problems like rock fallss, head on with a jeep in a tunnel, how to derail both ends of a locomotive, the blockage by the rise of Malheur Lake (Malheur= bad fortune).  A fun one to listen to.
