RF&P on a cloudy day.
Author: hoydie17

JJ and I took off today to go chase a little bit of steel on the RF&P. We might as well have went somewhere on the NEC as all but 3 of the trains we'd seen were AMTRAK. Mostly short hopping regionals, but we caught 53 up at XR (VRE Branch South of Fredericksburg).

Even for being a Sunday, I was surprised out how slow things were on the CSX side of things. Even though it was cloudy, it wasn't raining so it was all good in my opinion.

Anyways, here's a few photos from the day, I'm sure JJ will post a few as well.

Q411 just about to rumble over the C&O diamond as G931 waits his turn to head West up the Piedmont. Leader for the SB was 5107, the recently rehabbed W Thomas Rice Special, being trailed by a Furby.

Q415 had SD60I #8740 in the lead when it departed Brunswick, MD, today about 3:00 p.m. You may have seen an L415 or S415. Gerry

I see the network was tracking the 5107...it stopped and held at JD waiting for 173 to pass & cross over in front of it.
