Eastern Railroad Discussion > DW&P is now deadDate: 01/31/06 12:44 DW&P is now dead Author: CCMF The last DW&P locomotive SD40 5905 was retired yesterday 1/30/06 along with GTW 5913.
GTW 5925 is the last operating survivor of the 5900-5929 series and it was westbound on UP at Yuma, AZ this morning so it should be safe for a few days, though CN has been "retiring" these while they are stilll enroute to a particular point for removal from service. Date: 01/31/06 12:49 Re: DW&P is now dead Author: extra315 What about GTW 5933? It was in Flat Rock, MI, last night. Might have been dead but I couldn't tell.

Dave Date: 01/31/06 17:47 Re: DW&P is now dead Author: gtw1516 Hello Dave, I was wondering the same thing. If there is some sort of tax advantage to initialing locomotives DWP it will happen. We have the GTW 5938-5956 SD40-3 rebuilds, and the WC 6900-6949 SD40-3 rebuilds. None of them are actually assigned to the sub-lettered railroad. It must be for some type of financial gain. gtw1516 MRL_F45 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I wonder whay they haven't assigned DWP reporting > marks to any of the rebuilds they acquired, like > the Alstom units that got GTW and WC reporting > marks? > > Dave Date: 01/31/06 18:23 Re: DW&P is now dead Author: RuleG Has anyone here ever ridden on the D & WP as a train crew or a rider on an excursion? I was wondering what the scenery was like.
