US Rail Corp Jackson Div
Author: mhiser

The US Rail Corp Jackson Div, otherwise still thought by most as the Great Miami, ran to Vauces to interchange on the CSX Northern Sub. Still in Great Miami paint and lettering GP30 #30 and GP35 #351 still in Wisconsin Central paint were today's power.

Waiting at the south end of Vauces the crew waits for the CSX dispatcher to own the switch so they can retrieve their cars

Slowing down at Rittenours and preparing to access their own trackage at RA Jct.

About to pass under the C&O signals at Rittenours.

Enjoy,
Mark

Who are the customers on the Jackson operation, and how often does it normally operate? Nice photos. Thanks.

This area was even more fun in Chessie days as DT&I would take their Waverly Turn thru here some days, as well as B&O detours almost daily from West Junction to RA to VA to Renick such as Gateway 97. The NS ex-NW Portsmouth-to-Columbus main is just a couple miles over to the west. With the C&O, B&O, and NW, Chillicothe could easily see over 50 trains daily in the 70's and early '80s.

BTW, from the original post, dispatchers only THINK they own the switches. HA!
