Eastern Railroad Discussion > A few shots from Altoona,PA last week

Was up in Altoona and the west slope area last wednesday. Grabbed a few shots of stored power resting/rusting away at the shop complex in late afternoon light. I still shoot mostly slides but shoot some digital with the "family" camera.

Couple images of NS GP38's still in CR paint. couple of them look in good shape yet! Took an overall look at the units.

Anybody have any idea what the future may be for these? Shortline?, rebuild program?,scrapyard?

Also the Mearsk unit was in town for what looks like to be in need of repairs.

Supposedly fodder for the overhaul program. Between those and the genset programs, it looks like the shop crews have their hands full.
