Thats a former CEFX unit then former UP and originally SP SD40M-2..

If you look at the paint above the numberboards color gray is different.. thats where the CEFX lettering was painted over.. Look under 2793.. its a different "block" of yellow paint on the battery box..

While this unit is now an SD40M-2 mechanically, it was built this way for the UP and is not one of the 133 SD40M-2's rebuilt for the SP by Morrison Knudsen.
CEFX #2793 was built as SP SD45 #9099. After retirement by SP it went to Precision National where it sat in the backlot in Mt.Vernon,Illinois for many years before being used as a core unit in the 33 unir CEFX SD40-2 rebuild order. It was delivered as UP #4743 but later renumbered to #2793 to make room for the SD70M's.
