Rathole trip part 3
Author: mully

A few more images from Day 2 of our trip out on the Rathole. The first image is of a southbound grain train crossing the Green River at Southfork. The second image is of a southbound pan view at Bowen with a colorful consist. The third is of a southbound intermodal/pig train with an EMD leader at Moreland.

Enjoy
Gary

Lots of good angles of the bridge at Southfork, no wonder everybody goes there!

I've never been to the South Fork bridge but plan on going soon. I've got a question about the area for those of you that have been there. Most of the days I get to go railfanning are days my wife is working so take our two young boys along. They are young enough that they need to stay in the vehicle to watch the trains. To get some good shots of trains on the trestle are there any locations where it's possible to shoot right next to the vehicle? Someone told me you had to walk a short distance from the road but in your phots it appears you are right on the road. John

Yes, you can be right next to your vehicle. There is no reason to walk. It is an afternoon picture.
