Drove by there this past weekend and I noticed that the grading work may be complete and sitting in the weeds (not next to the weed weasel) is the new set of crossovers and the new traffic light signal is up and turned to the field...won't be long and the swamp yard will be even busier.

June 2012 if the stars align correctly.

5 months? but than again we are talking CSX...

The gas has been turned up on the burner on some upper management personel. Someone higher than them explained it is more important to put new turnouts in than build panels to replace the other turnouts coming out.

Considering it had originally penned to be complete in June 2011, then October 2011, I'd say June 2012 is about right.

So are they eliminating the double crossover now?

Maybe I haven't been paying attention, but which direction(s) is/are the connection(s) installed?

The only connection I'm aware of is south<->west. If construction has started on anything else, that began after New Year's Day.

No on eliminating double crossovers at this time. Putting in new turnouts has been put ahead of tearing old crossovers out.

Perhaps they will realize that the doubles should remain....but then again....

No they will come out and want them back in a few years down the road. Should be set up just like Hoytville and North Baltimore are at this time.

At Galatea this afternoon, looks like CSX is laying out right of way to run from north on TOC to west on old B&O towards Deshler.
Tracks on ground, no ties, signals toward cornfields
