Alco on the move

BDLX 106 RS3M Ex NYC 8263 is on the move again this time rumor has it going somewhere in West Virginia.I have seen this Engine in Huron Ohio and most recently behind USS Mill in Lorain Ohio

Unit is heading to Grafton, WV for interchange to the A&O who will take it to Tygart Junction to give to the new owner ,the West Virginia Central. Randy

OK,
that's what I thought her destination was,
unit built 1951 as NYC 8263 then 5263.
then became PC 5263 followed by Amtrak 106.
Unit is an RS-3M as it has an EMD prime mover in it,
don't know when the " true ALCO ' was removed from it.

Conrail did the rebuild before it went to Amtrak. CR had 40 of RS3M's. 39 from PC and 1 from El. No idea when they were retired. My guess early 80's I see alot of pics dated for the 75 to 81 period. Some did get CR paint.

Are you sure it's a EMD repower.? The smokestack Doesn't look like a normal EMD repower, Looks more like a CAT repower
