J&L Steel

Not sure if it was taken in Alquippa or not, but the Alco in question is an J&L Steel unit. They had a couple of these units working around Aliquippa. I shot 4 of them, painted just like this, back in 1988, when they started to tear the Aliquippa plant down.

The RR is the Pittsburgh and Lake Erie. The car in the background is/was a training car for them.

On the P&LE....yes. But not a P&LE unit. It is a J&L engine. I have it in the dead line on the Aliquippa Southern with 106 and 108 ( in bi-centennial paint) in '89. I'm working on a good scan.
