Eastern Railroad Discussion > Train watching Point of Rocks, MDDate: 06/25/13 11:33 Train watching Point of Rocks, MD Author: randyr Folks:
I have the chance to visit Point of Rocks, MD in the late afternoon or early morning during the week. So I am asking for suggestions and takes on what there is to see. I assume there is MARC and CSX action. I have always wanted to see the station in person, but living in Arizona I don't get a lot of opportunities. But I wil be in the area this week. Thanks in advance, Randy in Phoenix Posted from iPhone Date: 06/25/13 11:41 Re: Train watching Point of Rocks, MD Author: toledopatch Take the afternoon option -- the best views of the depot there are westbound, and MARC trains have the locomotives on the west end.

And you will have the sun to your back instead of shooting into it. I would have said go in the morning. But then if you're into photography I suppose it changes all things.......

Only on Friday is there a mid-day train, otherwise the first doesn't come until about 4, but trains don't start running until about then anyway.
