Eastern Railroad Discussion > Lackawanna on NS 65TDate: 10/07/13 07:00 Lackawanna on NS 65T Author: TrainCatcher HU.com shows the 1074 Lackawanna leading a WB 65T through Payne,OH this morning. What is the destination/routing of this train? Thanks.

I had not seen #1074 since it left the factory at Muncie, so chalk up another one for me. My hot streak continues for one more day.

Actually, the PC went south on the former NKP (New Castle District) to Bluffton, IN; haven't heard of any movement out of there yet. Experience with grain trains shows a particular unit-train symbol is not confined to a specific route -- best example being 55A which seems to apply to all empty grain trains departing Loudon, Tenn., regardless of where they're going. So while 65T has gone to Chicago in the past, I have no confidence about its destination today absent specific information. The 1074 is one of the four my wife still "needs" but I don't think I'll be trying to catch up with it today, especially considering the uncertainty of which way it will go out of Ft Wayne.
