Eastern Railroad Discussion > NS 6662 SD60 questionDate: 07/22/14 07:18 NS 6662 SD60 question Author: Hookdragkick This morning, I seen NS 6662 pulling into Belen, NM from El Paso, TX with what looked like three "firecracker" antennae: two were mounted on the long hood and one over the cab. What is that all about?
Thanks ahead of time for all answers. Date: 07/22/14 07:34 Re: NS 6662 SD60 question Author: NSDash9 When originally built, the 6662 was equipped with Locotrol radio control equipment, which allowed it to be a lead unit and control mid-train radio controlled helpers. The extra antennas were part of the radio control.
