Which NS N.Carolina line is now a trail?
Author: richs

Did NS recently abandon a ROW in Eastern North Carolina? If so, any SE fans know where? Also was this in the planning for quite some time, before the formation of the East Carolin Business Unit?
Thanks,
RichS

I live in Eastern N.C. and have not heard or read
of any recent abandonments. I doubt any abandonments are likely in the near future.

Most recent is the line from O&H junction (Oxford) to Henderson. Has that been made into a bike trail????

Henderson is NE of Durham off I-85 - maybe (?) 20 miles from the NC/VA line.

In South Carolina, NS leased the SB line in Lancaster to the Lancaster and Chester Railway. They also put the Saluda Grade out of service, though hints are that it's coming back.
