This looks like quite the oddball.  WNYP's pactice thus far is to number with model ie C424's start at 424... C430 430... M636 636...     685 I cannot find except here, best guess is it was Cartier 85 then RRPX 85 NYSW 3674 supposedly sold to WNYP for parts, but here it is.  Good stumper

Right, usually model, history  identification for me is simple, I look online and find out.  I looked and found nothing.
If I knew I could have asked at the office, they were very friendly.

I don't know about it being "sold for parts".  It was running the day the LA&L/B&H handed it over to NS in Panted Post, NY.  In fact, they used it as a leader on the run from Cohocton to Painted Post.
