Eastern Railroad Discussion > NS 4000 questionDate: 02/14/17 14:57 NS 4000 question Author: NKP715 Photographed the 4000 at Conneaut, OH today on 316.
Looking back at various on-line photos, noted that an "NS" decal added. Any reason why ? Did not see other side of unit. A new or recent standard practice ??? Edited 2 time(s). Chris Date: 02/14/17 16:38 Re: NS 4000 question Author: bigmc83 Perhaps Chris can answer this, but are these rebuilds taller than a traditional Dash 9. I seem to recall there being a height difference in the Dash 8 models (C vs CW). Is that still true on the Dash 9 models, and if so, are these rebuilds taller than their original Dash 9 counterparts?
Thanks, Sean McCaffery Date: 02/14/17 17:02 Re: NS 4000 question Author: NSDash9 Sean: the rebuilds are not taller than a traditional Dash 9. They have the same 15' 4" height to the top of the cab.

This way they already have the black with white letters. But, I'm just guessing. |
