Eastern Railroad Discussion > Wilmington DE (Joseph Biden Station) PicsDate: 04/17/17 18:07 Wilmington DE (Joseph Biden Station) Pics Author: erielackawanna Being both a railfan and having family in Wilmington DE when I was young, I was always very frustrated that you weren't allowed to just go up to the platforms there (you had to have a ticket and be let up, as I recall, when the train was coming).
Was just there two weeks back, visiting the same family, and was surprised that I was able to just go up on the platform and shoot what came by. I did have a ticket this time, but still it seems like this may be the one station that is easier on railfans today than it was in the 1970s. Image one is the northbound Crescent heading to NYC (would have been a pair of GG1s back when). Image two is of the north end of a southbound Acela. Image three is of my train arriving, NE Regional 174, which I rode to Newark. Thanks for looking. Even saw Jill sitting in the open waiting room down stairs.

Just to be safe, I asked a nearby Amtrak cop, and he smiled and said sure, take all you want, no problem.
