Eastern Railroad Discussion > Today CSX Q016-21 Hit A Pedestrian In or Near Akron Ohio

I went out to railfan this afternoon west of Newton Falls Ohio at Route 225. Saw Q216, Q352, a Westbound Loaded Coal, Another Westbound freight, but Q016 was running late. So because I had my scanner with me, I heard they had a L388 and a Local tide up somewhere near Akron. But at that time, Dispatch was talking to Q016, which I can't hear Q016 talking back because of 20+ miles away, but I did here that Q016-21 did hit a pedestrian somewhere near Lambert or Akron or east of Akron. I just don't know, but I did here someone did get hit. Anyway, I've railfanned the New Castle Sub sometimes, but I'm not familar where Lambert is. Is Lambert near Akron? Also with this today, does anyone know more information on what happened? Also Q016 by the time he passed Paris / Wayland was around 1 hour and 30 minutes late. If there was an accident, I hope the crew and the person hit was ok.

Lambert is at BG135 Waterloo rd...this is where the single main from Clinton Ohio(Warwick)BG144.0 becomes double track again.Hope this helps you some.

A 19-year-old male was reportedly lying across the tracks and was killed by Q016 at Broad Blvd in Cuyahoga Falls, MP125. Police are still investigating.

Thanks Matt. Now I know what happened.

Broad Blvd is a busy grade crossing next to the closed bread bakery. Route #8 parallels tracks at this point on the west side.
