Not sure why, as I would imagine CSX to Richmond, then West to Charleston would be quicker and less expensive. Hopefully others can clarify.... They used to bring the circus train for Charleston shows via the former C&O as they were able to bring cars to the KNWA (Conrail at the time) via an old trolley bridge in South Charleston that was taken out-of-service in the late 80s after a train derailed on the bridge. |
