csx will start ripping the bowl tracks out of stanley this week and reroute manifest traffic bound for detroit, flint, port huron and grand rapids
thru chicago and be switched out at grand rapids.

Where is Stanley?!? Michigan, Illinois or Ohio?

Stanley is at Toledo, OH next to Walbridge yard. It was ex NYC and is stub ended so all trains enter and exit out the north.
CSX closed Stanley before and learned they couldn't handle the traffic without it in short order.
Will history repeat? Don't know, perhaps not, if EHH cuts enough traffic it may work out this time.

Huh. Reroute through Chicago. Isn't that what the railroads are always trying to avoid?

This would explain why many trains that come into Toledo from Lima or Chicago in the last few weeks, instead of going north at Deshler, are now going over to Fostoria and coming into Walbridge yard from there.

I think you may be on to something there!

Does not make sense to me either. Cheaper to maintain a hump than route traffic out of the way to Chicago od all places (Barr Yd is not a hump) and over the ex-PM which is a perfect line sale candidate, even tho Hunter sez he won't sell anything. Who knows what the truth is....

Does "Chicago" mean Barr Yard or BRC Clearing ? (Neither of which is in Chicago)

Nothing is being rerouted to Chicago. Traffic from Chicago to Flint Port Huron and Sarnia will take the Northern route through Grand Rapids instead of the southern route through Garrett and Toledo Stanley yard.

Hey that's one way to eliminate remotes ... just start shutting down and ripping out yard trackage ...

So Hunter is keeping the PM for PM traffic to/from the west via Chicago? How much s that now? One small train a day each way (define small in Hunter numericals)

It looks like some changes are being implemented. Q319-25, Q392-25, Q507-25 all show to originate at Walbridge Yard. Q324-25, Q399-25, Q510-25 all show to terminate at Walbridge Yard. Also, is Q509 now abolished? It hasn't run for a couple days now.

Q272 out of Louisville recently changed its destination from Detroit to Walbridge. As mentioned Q510 recently changed from Stanley to Walbridge. It also was shorten - used to originate in Nashville TN, now originates in Cincinnati. Counterpart Q511 still shows out of Stanley for now but has been cut back to Cincinnati rather than Nashville. Q512/Q513 replace 510/511 between Louisville and Nashville. 512/513 will also operate between Cincinnati and Louisville as needed

q369 will be picking up michigan bound traffic onto chicago for switching at grand rapids starting next week
