One thing for sure is the fact that there were plenty of trains running for the two full days I spent on the CNO&TP. Miles and miles of double track with single track at tunnels and the bridge over the New River. My counterparts spent two more days then I did and after seeing some of their photos from days 3 & 4 I wish now I had stayed longer.

#10 NS 178 (BIRMINGHAM,ALA – BELLEVUE,OH) manifest north bound entering tunnel #24. This one really caught us off guard and I just managed this shot as the NS #6926 was about to enter the tunnel.

#11 NS 178 (BIRMINGHAM,ALA – BELLEVUE,OH) south of CP Sunbright. A makeup shot for what we missed on this one back at Tunnel #24.

#12 NS 275 (SHELBYVILLE, KY-ATLANTA,GA) southbound auto-rack north of CP Robbins. Again, another friendly acknowledgment of our presence from the crew of this train.

#13 North bound EMPTY Ethanol at CP Glenn Mary with s single unit. The only train on the entire trip where I failed to record the train ID.

#14 NS 276 (JACKSONVILLE, FLA – PRINCETON, IN) northbound at south end of Oakdale Yard

#15 NS 124 (CHATTANOOGA,TN - DECATUR,IL) manifest northbound out of tunnel # 25 Oakdale,TN.

#16 NS 177 (ELKHART,IN – CHATTANOOGA, TN) manifest southbound at Oakdale,TN.

#17 NS 709 (GP WANSLEY,GA – EASTERN COAL MT) northbound over the Emory River just south of Harriman JCT. It was good to see a Georgia Power Plant Wansley coal drag somewhere other then on the “C-Line”


#18 NS 170 (CHATTANOOGA, TN – CONWAY, PA) northbound at CP Glenn Mary
