Southbound CSX intermodal stopped for a red signal just north of Quantico, VA and the Dominion power plant. Note the third track ballast on the left side of the train. The track is being installed for additional VRE capacity.

Possum Point on the Potomac River is seen at the right top of the second picture. A new VRE station is to be built a mile to the north.

Thanks for the great picture.
Our son got out of the Navy last May and is living and working in Quantico.
He works at the Naval Medical Clinic where he was assigned as a civilian contractor and has an apartment in downtown Quantico, less than a 1/2 mile from the tracks.

He said that he has finally gotten use to the trains running near his apartment. He could not hear them that well when living in the barracks.
