Eastern Railroad Discussion > 20W at the wrong time with Erie 1068 passing in Rootstown OhioDate: 06/17/17 20:16 20W at the wrong time with Erie 1068 passing in Rootstown Ohio Author: cornerfieldhobby Do to CP 86 and a massive train backup for 3 and a half hours finally 20W got the proceed. Well as he was crossing Sandy Lake Road came 25T with 1068 rounding the curve to the south at 15MPH restricted speed in Rootstown. Well 20W arrived first and then I guess the right moment came with the 2 baretables as I at least got the photos of the side of 1068. Oh well. At least I saw it.

I did 45 speed limit on Ravenna road not at all overspeeding. Actually I went slower incase I saw 1068 through the trees. Well do to dispatch talking to 1068 of having to stop at CP86 and then could proceed soon I continued slowly toward Hudson. Well I turned south onto Stow Road and crossed the tracks and saw no light. So I though well it's going to be a long time, so I drove slowly to Hudson Ohio at Colony Park. Got my camera and video camera out and started walking to the pedestrian bridge. Well NS Coal Coke 421 was stopped under the bridge so I figured well 1068 is far off, well about 400 feet from the bridge I heard the horn of 1068 crossing Stow Rd. I was like, Are You Kidding Me!!! How could he make it here this fast. So I ran up to the bridge as fast as I could go and only had 8 seconds to spare and the video below is what I got.

It wasn't the greatest catch, but it was something different. Luckly 1068 passing at the right time in the top photos.
