Date: 09/23/17 17:43 Re: NS 956 OCS being pulled backwards with an SD40-2 Author: DocJohn Why was train turned in ATL? Perhaps heading for Savannah and NS did not want to run train around the loop in Macon.
John Date: 09/23/17 19:24 Re: NS 956 OCS being pulled backwards with an SD40-2 Author: ctillnc I can't think of any other explanation. The SD40-2 must have coupled on at Howell Tower. For those who don't know, a southbound train on the ex-Southern into Macon is pointed in the opposite direction from the ex-CofG out of Macon toward Savannah.
Besides running the way around through Brosnan Yard, couldn't they have wyed the train at Bay St? Date: 09/23/17 20:24 Re: NS 956 OCS being pulled backwards with an SD40-2 Author: DocJohn I don't think NS has put passenger cars on the Bay st wye in years.
