Eastern Railroad Discussion > CN 8101 and 8102 West ... kind of at least!! It's the NS 8102Date: 11/13/17 19:36 CN 8101 and 8102 West ... kind of at least!! It's the NS 8102 Author: Ron The CN 8101 passed westbound across the CN in Michigan today. It had work to do at Battle Creek, so while he was setting out and picking up I tried to get a few photographs, and after he got going heading west, I tried to get a video.
The video ..... I'm not at all happy with it. I learned a few things today, though. I bought a new Nikon A900, a couple months ago and I'm still trying to get the knack of using it. Today I did discover that I need to be farther away from the tracks with this camera. It's heavier, and the slightest breeze, or my movement, and as the video shows, the vibrations off the locomotives of a passing train makes the camera vibrate and move around. CN 8101 NS 8102 West, Monday, November 13, 2017, at about 12:30 PM. At MP 176.08 CN South Bend Subdivision, Battle Creek, Michigan. The first photograph is the CN 8101 and NS 8102 from today. The other is from October 20, 2014. They were both in Battle Creek, Michigan, that day too. But they weren't paired up, and the CN 8101 was still in the EMD Demo paint. Ron Edited 1 time(s). The NS 8102 here could use a bath. When I saw it back in 2014, it was spotless!! Thanks!! Ron Date: 11/14/17 03:24 Re: CN 8101 and 8102 West ... kind of at least!! It's the NS 8102 Author: kinnearyard Never thought l would see a Canadian National Locomotive sharing the load with the Pennsylvania Railroad. But the odd ones slip into Canada now and again . This one came into Montreal several days ago, figured she go back state side the same way. Well she's going home now to the midwest. Nice to see the old roads showing up on modern equipment .
