Eastern Railroad Discussion > Trick then Treat...the B&LE.Date: 02/09/18 16:36 Trick then Treat...the B&LE. Author: Forever-Railfan-45 The weather made the roads very tricky but the treat at the end of the drive was worth it. Decided to venture off to the land of Conneaut, Ohio...home of the Bessemer and Lake Erie. Just missed the north bound as I pulled up to the Old Main Street crossing as it was entering the yard. Waited almost six hours for the loaded southbound ore train. First picture is of the NS 316 crossing the former NKP trestle while the loaded Bessemer and Lake Erie loaded ore train waits to come south. Numbers two and three are of the loaded ore train pulling up to Old Main Street as the CN MOW will bring the conductor up to the front of the train...

My first time seeing the B&LE let alone a SD38 leading. Have been going to Conneaut since 1992 but never really gave it much thought on railfanning the Bessemer and Lake Erie. Back then I was more interested in the "big roads..." If only I could go back in time....!
