Eastern Railroad Discussion > NS Pittsburgh Line at Cove, PA on 1/20Date: 02/15/18 06:48 NS Pittsburgh Line at Cove, PA on 1/20 Author: OCtrainguy Finishing up photos from a weekend trip to Hershey, PA from 1/19 to 1/21 for the Hershey Bears Outdoor Classic hockey game. On Saturday morning, my son and I headed out to Cove, PA on the NS Pittsburgh Line. We had learned of the CNJ heritage engine coming east on a 66X train, so we wanted to catch that. Even after the CNJ engine passed by, we decided to hang around Cove for most of the day. We did rather well in my opinion. Here are our photos. (My camera had shutter issues on Friday, so I was using my cell phone camera. Not all the photos came out as well as I would've liked.) 1. Eastbound trailer train with a pair of Dash 9s. We didn't catch the symbol. 2. My son's photo of a westbound coal train with a GEVO and Dash 9. 3. My son's photo of a westbound intermodal with two NS engines (Dash 9 and a AC GEVO) and a UP one third. More to follow. 4. The UP engine on the westbound intermodal 5. An eastbound mixed freight with SD70ACU 7300 leading. Not sure of the symbol, but it had six engines and appeared to be heading into Enola Yard 6. Using his zoom lens, my son got this photo of the 23Z The 23Z was going slow to allow the 21J to get ahead of it as the 21J would be changing tracks down the line. More to follow...
