Eastern Railroad Discussion > 4 Class-1 leaders in 3 hours time, plus a few others...Date: 02/21/18 07:23 4 Class-1 leaders in 3 hours time, plus a few others... Author: Railfan94 It's been a pretty slow week since the warbonnet chase here in Virginia, with not much going on. I'll start with a couple of days from the last week before getting into yesterday.
First up is the Auto Train crossing the Rappahannock on a beautiful Saturday morning. A rather drab Monday (2-19) saw a nice 8-freight sit at Jones' crossing in about 4 hours. T161, a loaded Birchwood coal train is seen here splitting the namesake signals with a couple of ES44's on the head. Later that evening, Q409 came south with a couple of Uncle Pete's trailing. Loaded grain train G648 came down the RF&P at last light with the 'Spirit of West Springfield' leading an AC4400.
And now to Yesterday (12-20). With nothing better to do, and a few heads ups, I hauled out to the Southern around Bealton for a few hours. First up was rock train K90's power coming off the branch at Casanova with an SD40-2 pair. The first foreign leader of the day was this, NS 35Q with a CP pair leading, seen here headed south under US-17 at Bealton. After meeting 12R, 35Q then comes south, seen crossing the Rappahannock River bridge. Class 1 Number 3; NS 211 with UP #6784 leading, and an NS-UP-NS trio behind, seen here stretched across the Licking Run valley. I almost forgot these were a thing (since we don't see them on CSX), but the new 'ONE' containers on 228. Hope Everyone Enjoys!!! Date: 02/21/18 14:31 Re: 4 Class-1 leaders in 3 hours time, plus a few others... Author: ns1000 Nice pics!!
