Eastern Railroad Discussion > 60 year old Canadian GP9 looking goodDate: 04/14/18 08:39 60 year old Canadian GP9 looking good Author: stlrailfan Posting this on the eastern board as its technically east of the Mississippi River. Just finished a repaint of our 1958 Canadian built GP9U # 1602. She was rolled out of GMD London Ontario in March 1958. Myself , my brother Mike and co worker Brendan did much of the repainting. Taken at Granite City, IL on April 12th 2018.

Mike, Do you know who made those spark arrestors? I had responsibility for spark arrestors at EMD Engineering in the 70's but don't think I ever saw aftermarket ones like that. I also worked for ASF-Keystone in Granite City 2005-2007, how are things there now? It was pretty bleak at that time. Dave |
