Tearing out these facities is in line with EHH's practice of having few, if any regrets, even when evidence says otherwise. Time will tell, but we can get an idea of the legacy these actions make by looking at CN these days. PSR leaves no room to handle surges, or to grow in the future, which is the nature of a good firm. At the time (before the idea of closing other humps) it was sandwiched between other busy humps and just wasn't sorting that many cars... less than 1000 a day as far as I know. Author: LimitedClear I've heard it was only a matter of time before some of these yards disappear because more traffic goes via intermodal yards, container trains. Also downtown Atlanta is a booming real estate market even if land is contaminated. Yikes! Get free cancer with your condo.

That should be interesting....even more trucks on the roads. I was amazed yesterday when I was on I81 and the number of trucks sitting waiting on an accident to clear..... I've made that observation myself on occasion. During 15+ years Trainorders has compiled quite an information base.

Especially when the OP has been advised numerous times to do a little research before posting every single thought that enters his mind. Like today he asks if a certain train originates or terminates in Charlotte - when a one-second Google search would have given him the answer. Give me a break! |
