Eastern Railroad Discussion > Car Routing Help on NSDate: 04/20/18 07:47 Car Routing Help on NS Author: NSTopHat Yesterday I went out to get my son from Karate and noticed that there was to be a three way meet in Flowery Branch, GA between Grif (MP592.3) & Allen (MP 594.8), of two south bounds and a northbound. The northbound rolled into town first, but what was most interesting about this train, which I didn't catch it's ID, was that 4 of its first 5 cars were H&W loads. Attached are cars two, three & five of the train. Somewhere on NS, DTTX #765931, a Gunderson 3 x 53' well car set, got damaged and is headed north on three ITTX 89's flats. I know TTX has or at least had a major shop in Jacksonville, FL, so I was surprised to see these cars. While I shot these images at 5:15 pm, I had to later go through town and noticed that at 9:25 pm last night this train was still stopped just short of the Radford Rd. crossing in Flowery Branch.
Can someone, who has the appropriate access, send me a PM as to where these cars are way-billed to for repairs? Thanks, Russ Date: 04/20/18 07:55 Re: Car Routing Help on NS Author: NSTopHat The first car in the NB was also of interest as well, as it was a UP MOW Flat loaded with a piece of rail equipment from Plasser, headed away from UP. The first southbound, which I believe was 203 was led by a UP SD70ACe, but had a D.I.T. UP C45AH (ES44AH) #8189 third out. On the both trucks at each axle it was noted in chalk that the air ducts were torn.
If anyone could also forward me a PM with the destination of the UP MOW flat, I'd appreciate it. Thanks, Russ Date: 04/22/18 18:49 Re: Car Routing Help on NS Author: DirtyShirt This train 154 passed through Charlotte, NC this afternoon 4/22/18. So it took three days to go about 200 miles. Way to move the freight NS. The operations on the Piedmont Division are almost at a standstill.
