C&O Heritage evident at Dawkins, KY
Author: Baxtersta

The C&O heritage of CSX's Big Sandy Subdivision is quite evident along the line, particularly at a place like Dawkins, KY. Cantilever signal bridges still serve along the line. To wit:
1. CSX train U810 passes under the signals on its way east with empty hoppers.
2. Loaded coal train T125 heads west under the pair of cantilevers controlling each direction.
3. The now abandoned coal branch has become the Dawkins rail trail. Mile post D4 shows that we are 4 miles from the junction at Van Lear.
