Former "Rail Beast" Headed East
Author: WeldedRail

While not all that interesting anymore, the unit infamous for it's brief "Rail Beast" paint scheme as shown in this previous thread https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?1,4382638,page=1 was seen headed east this evening from East St. Louis, IL on an auto train lead by CSX 7903. I thought it was interesting, and probably the nicest looking SD60M on the Union Pacific roster, so thought I would share. Sorry for the poor cell phone photo, was caught a bit off guard.

Thanks for looking.
Joel

I'd like to have been "a fly on the wall" in the UP meeting when they discussed:
A. How this could happen.
B. Why or how it was never reported prior to being completed.
C. "Can we capitalize on it before we repaint it?"

Undoubtedly, some of the "coat and tie" guys privately thought it was pretty clever... notwithstanding it being a flagrant crime.

I saw one of the emails.

It went from “check this out” to “get with local management and have it routed to NLR now”

In a similar vein, the C&O ex-CSX PRLX leaser is no more as C&O heralds have been painted over: https://www.flickr.com/photos/respondekrailroad/39821874680/in/photostream/

It looks pretty cool. I would have added that to my tagging collection. "Those kids did a great job!"
