6/13/18 11:05 71 degrees as W620 With WC GP40 3010 sprays weeds on the MP 202 curve at Charlotte, Michigan.My first sprayer catch since 1976 in this area. Sweet😁 1976 photos attached too.

Anything happen to you once you were sprayed?

Interesting catch . . is that a cross at the edge of the parking lot commemorating someone passing near or on the tracks?

Yes, unfortunately it is. Several years ago a HIgh School boy walking with earphones in listening to music on the way home from school was hit here by EB freight from behind. Family maintains the memorial adjacent to church parking lot in years since. A sad reminder to the danger of cutting the ROW.

Seriously, sprayer was low and focused down on the ballast not in parking lot.

Looks and sounds like they actually stopped the spray just before going by then a few seconds later started it again.

There was absolutely no reason that that kid should have ever got hit by a train in Charlotte. He was 16 years old and lived just a couple blocks further east from where he was hit. The house he lived in was either right next to the tracks, or just a couple of houses back from the tracks.

He would have heard train whistles 24 hours a day living that close to the tracks. So a train coming should not have been a surprise.
