NS 361-14 with FEC SD70M-2 106

Today's 361 came into Atlanta, Georgia with one of the leased FEC SD70M-2s leading a C40-8W. With much less than desirable weather conditions I shot it anyway as the mostly cloudy skies helped with the curse of midday.
The first view is at Howell, I was aiming to get it passing Spring but traffic dictated that idea. The second view shows the train rounding the curve south of Spring as it's about to duck under i20. The 3rd scene is passing Oakland Junction, within the next 15 minutes 361, lawed out just before entering Industry Yard at East Point.

Yes, Great day for the most part. These shots are good for what we dealt with as far as the sun goes. All-in-All not a bad day. Ben

Horn activated? I don't know if that's a thing anymore.

I'm surprised NS is letting these things lead as much as they have been.

the engineer didn't have them on, by the rules they didn't need them, there's only two grade crossings between Inman and Industry anyway and they're in 20 mph speed limits. I'm glad they weren't on really. but there again I might not have wanted them on^^^ lol

Well considering the epa has forced crap non lead-based based paints, paint jobs are crap anyway out of the gates and only last a few years in good condition. It sure didn't help FEC let this junk sit in salty air and harsh sunlight for a couple years. But there again this 70 series junk isn't worthy of quality paint lol. Funny how no one died years ago from looking at GP9s and F units... As far as these 70s go I'd bet being they're such junk NS will be chomping at the bit to buy them.

I'm also a bit surprised NS has these. I guess when you need power....

Pic 3 is my favorite.
