on the road again . . .
Author: 3rdswitch

.   .   .   still visiting Eastern Board territory after a great time at my first Summerail. Heading home to Colorado later this evening. A few of this and that from the past few days;
top: The last shot in the Covington, KY area before heading up into Ohio and Summerail with a former C&O signal bridge in the distance.
middle: Northbound Marion, OH.
bottom: CSX westbound curving past the east end of former EL Marion yard.

.   .   .
top: Just before the end of dinner break at Marion and a fine one it was with my first taste of Skyline chili, a northbound appeared at just the right time.
middle: A couple of grain elevator switchers at Carey, OH.
bottom: Business out of the big quarry at Carey must be quite good for the Wheeling as no less than eight big units were present on this Sunday visit.

.   .   .
top and middle: After lunch with my aunt and cousin in Findlay, my cousin actually showed interest in visiting the Iron Triangle Railroad park in Fostoria. Since she was driving and I had left my camera in the rental car I had to use my cell phone for a few westbounds on the NS at the park. I don't know what I did, but when I looked later it took them in black and white? Never did that before? After a restart things went back to normal. And, yes, the middle shot is actually westbound shoving a grain empty into the facility on the west side of town.
bottom: Southbound unit coil train Lima, OH.

.   .   .
top: Neat old DT&I cantilever signal still in use at the south end of the former now IORY yard in Lima protecting the crossing of the former Nickle Plate.
middle: IORY Springfield train entering Uniopolis, OH. Unfortunately for ME, but fortunate for the conductor, I guess, he chose to ride with the door propped open.
bottom: Going away the train passed the local grain elevator with a "critter" hiding in the shadows.

Great way to discover your cell phone capabilities-by accident!  Black & white worked well.  Have a safe trip back to Colorado!

One of the most interesting trip presentations I've seen. Very-well done.
