Eastern Railroad Discussion > Will bnsf stop interchanging stuff @ Fairburn ga ?Date: 10/14/18 15:22 Will bnsf stop interchanging stuff @ Fairburn ga ? Author: 611Fan Or will csx have 2 interchange points with bnsf ?
Just wondering Posted from iPhone Date: 10/14/18 15:51 Re: Will bnsf stop interchanging stuff @ Fairburn ga ? Author: farmer Actually they have more than two.
Fairburn is for the southeast and North Baltimore would be for the Northeast. Posted from iPhone Date: 10/14/18 16:01 Re: Will bnsf stop interchanging stuff @ Fairburn ga ? Author: florida581 Why would BNSF just stop that traffic? Fairburn is an official BNSF terminal, jointly operated with CSX.

There is no "interchange" with CSX involved with these locations. Customers bring containers directly to or from BNSF at these terminals. BNSF contracts with CSX to haul its trains to Birmingham (Fairburn) or Chicago (North Baltimore). And as noted, they serve completely different markets (northeast and southeast) so its not like one replaces the other. |
