Eastern Railroad Discussion > NS SD60s and SD70sDate: 12/04/18 22:58 NS SD60s and SD70s Author: fatnrat Word on the street is that all remaining standard cab SD70's are to be withdrawn from service soon and sent for storage pending rebuilding as SD70ACC's. Also heard that all standard cab SD60's and dozens of SD60I's are being retired soon. PSR is well underway with NS.

Lots going on,more to come! The STB is requiring weekly updates from NS,I assume in an attempt to avoid a CSX type of implementation.

Maybe,,,,,,,,just maybe, the rebuilds, if done properly, are more reliable then the "new design" Tier 4, highly sophisticated crap that is currently available.
