Caboose departing Hamlet, NC
Author: P

A longtime resident of Hamlet,NC is likely departing shortly for Indiana. Not sure of train number or routing yet, but it is in the departure yard this morning and presumably will be underway shortly.
If anyone can get any good photos along the way, feel free to post here or PM me.

TIA!

A caboose. I'll post an update here when I can confirm it is on the move. Still in yard as of noon.

If this is the unit displayed with the SDP-35 near the station,  it reportedly is ex-Seaboard Air Line #5241, built 1924.

A newer post on 1/5/19 at 06:03 describes the unit as the Hamlet Safety Caboose.  Photos on http://www.rrpicturearchives.net show it as a wide vision style in nice blue/gray scheme with appropriate signs.
