Chassis On The Way / New To These Parts / The Usual
Author: NSSpike

Taking advantage of the first weekend with sunshine and clear sky's since the last weekend in November it was time to head out. So out to the Atlanta North district for the morning setting up at CP Green was the game plan. This is where the C-Line to Cedartown starts at the south end of the Brice / Green siding.

#1. First up was south bound NS 361 (CHATTANOOGA, TN - MACON, GA) that just about had every type of car in their consist including Auto racks on the head end, a single double stack and a rather large cut of RWSX loaded coal hoppers.

"Chassis On The Way"

#2 & #3. With NS Whitaker Yard in Austell dealing with a shortage of container chassis they issued an International Embargo at their busy Austell intermodal terminal. NS 26Q (MEMPHIS, TN – GARDEN CITY, GA) had a few loads of chassis in their consist to help deal with the shortage. The embargo was effective Monday January 7, 2019.

#4. Next up was NS 52J FORSYTH GA with about 80 plus hoppers of loaded grain.

The “New To These Parts”

#5. NS 371 (CHATTANOOGA,TN – CEDARTOWN, GA) as the NS #9009 leads this manifest off the Atlanta North End district siding track onto the Cedartown District main. This train also had eight loaded coal hoppers for plant Wansley. What was strange to me was the two empty center beam cars???

#6. Another “New To These Parts” is NS 371 now re-crewed and operating as local G01 (Cedartown – Carrollton GA.) seen here about to work the Blossman Gas propane bulk transfer facility in Buchanan Ga.

"The Usual"

#7. What has become a “Usual” NS 735 (GP JULIETTE, GEORGIA - PRB WYOMING) on the Alabama East End with another 135 empty PRB hoppers heading west out of the Bremen / Sewell siding in Bremen Ga.

#8. NS 735's DPU power crosses over the Bremen Diamond over the Georgia Division “C-Line”

#9. With a track speed of 50mph at this location one has have some fast shutter speed to capture the NS 735 as it crosses over the Tallapoosa River bridge at MP 698.3
