Founded in 1909, the Laurinburg and Southern Railroad is a 28 mile short-line railroad that runs from Raeford to Laurinburg, North Carolina. The railroad has been owned by Gulf & Ohio Railways since 1998.Interchanging with CSX, the LRS moves 5,800 cars annually utilizing three locomotives.
