"...Following Winter Storm Jaden, our Chicago Intermodal facilities have experienced declines in drayage support and as temperatures continue to drop it is expected that driver availability will continue to weaken. To protect operations in Chicago the following temporary lane closures are announced:Effective 5:00pm Tuesday, January 29=9.75pxth, and until further notice, all origin-facility ingates will close to empty Domestic and International shipments billed to Chicago.In addition, the following lanes will temporarily close to loaded shipments:Domestic

• Ayer to Chicago
• Charlotte to Chicago
• Columbus to Chicago
• Mechanicville to Chicago
• Norfolk (Portlock) to Chicago
• Taylor to Chicago

International

• Charlotte to Chicago
• Cincinnati to Chicago

Looks like loaded containers on train 23K originating at Ayer/Mechanicville/Taylor(Scranton) are not of sufficient volume to be in the critical category.

Winter storms are not named by the National Weather Service, this nonsense of every cold front and flake of snow being given a name by The Weather Channel and AccuWeather needs to stop.

It is all hype for ratings and to scare you out of your mind. 

AMEN to that! I think the weather channel is the worst culprit. Who gave those bozos the right to 'name' storms anyway? Without giving away my age, We had far worse storms when I was a kid, and snow days were rare. I had to take a public bus to elementary school (K-8) and walk a mile and a half to high school. The storms were worse than they are these days and people got to work/school in spite of the weather. The generation running things nowadays are nothing but a bunch of whiners who use every excuse immaginagable for not 'getting the old job done' As President Trump said in a tweet a few weeks ago...."We could use some of that Global warming now!"

This rant pretty much gives your age.   :)

Completely agree!!  Seems to be a  weather channel thing, anything they can do to overhype things, I can't watch them.

But, as a business, naming everything seems to have worked in creating discussion, and likely higher ratings. The "horrible, evil", whatever people want to call it, Weather Channel seems to have won. Businesses making more money is good, right?
