Is this train already back to Charlotte - Jax?  I hate to say as I get older, I am finding it harder to keep pace with CSX's rate of change, but don't I recall Q037 was recently cut back to Charlotte - Charleston?

Yes, for a little while Q037 was cut back to a Charlotte-Charleston train and Q103/Q104 was extended from Savannah to Jax.  Years ago Q103/104 was a daily Charleston - Jax train.  It appears that Q037/38 is back to Charlotte - Jax and that Q103/104 has been abolished.

Cool video! Thanks for sharing. Do they always block the crossing for a crew change or is that not a common occurrence at this location?

Not a common crew change.  Northbound crew changes when required happen south of Martin St. with no crossings blocked.

Q103 and Q104 have not been abolished as they still run to/from Charleston and Jacksonville.

OK thanks.  For some reason according to the CSX trace they didn't run from the 23rd to the 29th.  Must be a computer screw up.

If they are running to Jax, they must run late at night as I haven't seen them during the day or heard them on the radio.  They used to run Charleston to Savannah.

Huh, if they didn't run from the 23rd to the 29th, then they might be abolished. On the 24th, Q037/Q038 were both extended back to Jacksonville and Q103/Q104 were still scheduled as well.

So either they were annulled each day from the 23rd - 29th, or they were indeed abolished.

NOTE: I don't have access to any trace systems so I can't confirm whether they were abolished or not. All of the info I get is from sources

If you are using the railroadfan.com/wiki as your source, it is a great site, but not always up to date.  I spend a lot of time trackside (retirement is good) and I'm pretty sure Q103/104 no longer runs to Jax.  It used to come through Folkston in the afternoon (on Q037's old schedule) but does not any more.

Q037 is back to it's old schedule, however lately the crew has been outlawing before it gets to Jax.  Today it recrewed at Jesup, GA.

Those recrews are usually handled by the extra board out of Waycross.

So just how long were those grade crossings blocked by this crew change?

About 15-20 minutes.
