My First Photo of 2019
Author: jmbreitigan

This past Monday we see the POHC local from McKees Rocks in Pittsburgh, PA. headed west to service Washington Penn Plastics in Arden, PA. The local has just left Canonsburg proper approaching an old PRR over Chartiers creek. At one time it was double track from Carnegie to Houston, PA. Just ahead is the Strabane Ave. road crossing. And it looks like #706 has been recently washed.

Not real sure but if you look at Carnegie just north of 376 (Parkway) the main branches into two tracks. One heads towards Arden, PA. A short distance past Washington Penn Plastics it ends. At one time it continued towards the old Tylerdale Connecting RR in the west end of Washington, PA.

The other track runs along Main street (Carnegie) west alomg Noblestown road where it ends. It used to continue farther. This may be the Pandhandle you mentioned. Maybe others with more knowledge will weigh in.
