Conrail ME-2 on Bonhamtown Branch - Edison NJ
Author: erielackawanna

Back on Jan 15 I had my first ever view of the Conrail ME-2 job out of Metuchen. One of this local's responsibilities is the Bonhamtown Branch, the one time Lehigh Valley connection from its orginal main into Perth Amboy to the Pennsylvania Railroad (to get into Jersey City). I stumbled across the Me Too as it was heading towards Laxness in Fords (although all images are shot in Edison, including inside the Raritan Center). Thank you to Adam Christman for directing me to shots and hosting in his stomping grounds. Great to run into Carl Pearlman too.

Image one is actually of the rear of the pull towards the end of the branch. A GP40-2 takes up the markers.

Image two is of the shove into Laxness (beyond the fence is the next town over, Fords.

Image three is now of the train heading back to Metuchen, passing through a parking lot in the Raritan Center.

I like your 2nd picture.  Lots to look at in it.

Interesting that there are two units on one end and one unit on the other end.
