The D&H and the Mohawk
Author: train1275

Drinking the morning coffee and relaxing, then the 22K comes through Oneonta and its out the door to check him out.
Detector calls out a hot wheel and here he is slowing south of Schnevus. NS 9938, 9237 and 9031 are the power.

Hot wheel mitigated and headed east again towards Schnevus

Lead unit 9938 throws out smoke like an old D&H 1500 Challenger.

Headed up the hill at East Worcester

then at Richmondville ... what you can't see is the wind which is just ripping in from the SW freezing the fingers and cutting through the body.

and splitting the signals at Esperance, MP 503, headed towards Schenectady.

Now up on the old New York Central Mohawk Division we find Amtrak 281 approaching the Amsterdam, NY  station beside the historic Mohawk River with Engine 701.

Following 281 is a westbound CSX freight with 5216 leading

Last one is CSX 3404 east rounding the superelevation at Fonda, NY

Thank you very much train1275 for braving the elements and capturing these nice shots.

Sad to see the D&H gantries and searchlight signals gone.
