Went to Mexico to watch trains
Author: mp109

Yesterday my son, grandson and I went to "Mexico" on the Pittsburgh line to catch some trains. This is a spot on the line where
there used to be a signal but now only a "box" with the designation SIP 148.7. Since the signals have been removed it is harder
to catch train symbols as the crews no longer call the signals and only call if there is a change in the cab signal without noting
the location. The only time I was at this spot before was in June 1982 and it was a lot warmer then! This location is a good one
for photography as there is a nice sweeping curve. We saw around 20 some trains there from around 12:15 to 6:20.
1. The 781 coal train westbound with the Southern heritage unit in the consist and an ET44AC leader.
2. The eastbound Pennsylvanian.
3. Westbound intermodal 21J (I think) with the Reading heritage unit in the consist.
